As its name says, System Tray Cleaner has been developed to help you clean your system tray from unwanted items.

It’s a very simple, neat and handy tool that enables you to get rid of broken shortcuts, useless icons and unused entries from the tray area.

One of the best things about this tool is that it shows a lot of detailed information about the program corresponding to a tray entry. By offering access to these clear data, System Tray Cleaner helps users decide what actions to take regarding that tray entry: delete, disable, or keep. Anyway, the fact that it uses your default web browser in order to list the tray items and the related data is a flaw in my opinion. There might be already tens of tabs automatically opening in that web browser, and adding a new one won’t ease things up. From what I noticed, the removal of the tray icon performed by System Tray Cleaner is, in fact, deleting or disabling that program from the system startup. That’s not exactly what I usually have in mind when I consider getting rid of a tray icon.

In conclusion, though it’s simple, neat and lightweight, I won’t rely on using this tool when I need to manage the tray items.
